What are Feed-in Braids?

Feed in Braids are the illusion of naturally long cornrow braids as if they are growing directly from the scalp. The Feed in Braid technique is achieved by adding braiding hair extensions to one's natural hair, strand by strand, beginning with a starter braid using your natural hair first.

What are the benefits of getting Feed-in Braids?

  • Protective styling

  • Encourages hair growth

  • Less strain on the scalp

  • Reduces hair breakage

It's a great protective styling option. Feed-in braids are a favorable option if you want some time away from having to style your hair. Also, since it is a protective style, the braids are protecting your natural hair.

How long do Feed-in braids last?

With proper maintenance and care you should be able to keep your hair in for 2-6 weeks, at max. In this time, your natural hair will grow while it's in this protective style.

Are Feed-in Braids for everyone?

This is a difficult question to answer. Being that feed-in braids are a protective style, it can potentially bother those with sensitive scalps, especially if they are done too tight.

If this is a concern for you, you should book a consultation with our braider, Dasha Hall to ensure all of your questions about feed-in braids are answered.

How long do Feed-in braids take to finish?

Depending on the braider, your hair texture, desired length and style, feed-in braids can take anywhere from 15 minutes for an easy style or up to four hours on a more intricate style.
